Whether we are feeding a hungry family, putting a roof on a neighbor's house, volunteering at community outreach programs, walking on a CROP walk, or traveling to areas struck by natural disasters, our goal is always to find every way possible to involve as many as we can in the work of feeding and caring for God's "sheep", the people of our world today.
Plans are being made for mission trips to such diverse places as Cuba and China, but we are also working to meet needs in our own community.
In October 2010, we collected 266 cans of soup for the Belmont Community Organization (BCO) in Belmont, NC. This organization helps the needy families in the Belmont area. Also, we raised $3,815.00 for use in purchasing electrical and plumbing materials to rebuild Kings Hospital in Haiti. Our very own Bryan Baker will be traveling to Haiti soon to deliver the materials and work on the project.
Pastor Hal has recently returned from a inspiring trip to Cuba. We praise God for the trip and the successes Hal achieved on his trip. Also, a group from Park Street and other teams from the Belmont area Methodist Churches traveled to Mississippi May 22-29th to help rebuild from the destruction left by Hurricane Katrina. We are also participating in the local mission project - Inter Faith Hospitality program - to help families as they work to get back on their feet again in the current economy.
